Each month, tune in to explore some of our favorite artifacts, delve into the overarching themes of our galleries, or get a sneak peek into the planning and design of an upcoming exhibit.
On October 30, 2024, join our Curator of Exhibitions for a deep dive into our seasonal exhibit, The Cabinet of Curiosities!
The Cabinet of Curiosities showcases eerie, weird, and downright spine-tingling artifacts from the NCHGS collections. See the steering wheel of a steamboat that exploded on the Delaware River, a 19th century book that gets its vibrant green hue from arsenic, and a piece of the rope that was used to hang Charles Getter in 1833 – a sight so vulgar that the governor of Pennsylvania outlawed public executions.
