Conversations with the Curator: Makerspaces for Museums and Historic Sites

April 24, 2024, 12:00 pm

Get a behind-the-scenes look at our exhibits and collections with our lunchtime dialogue series, Conversations with the Curator!

Each month, tune in to explore some of our favorite artifacts, delve into the overarching themes of our galleries, or get a sneak peek into the planning and design of an upcoming exhibit.

On April 24, 2024, join our Curator of Exhibitions, Tim Betz, as we celebrate his newly-published book, Making History: Makerspaces for Museums and Historic Sites. His work presents a roadmap to building, planning, researching, and using a makerspace alongside more traditional museum programming. Highlights include:

  • Creating a makerspace and culture of making that is inclusive and for the entirety of the community
  • Creating meaningful makerspace-centered programming
  • Why museums and makerspaces are a natural fit
