Museum and a Movie: Craft in America – Quilts

July 7, 2024, 2:00 pm, John R. Austen Auditorium

NCHGS’s Museum and a Movie series showcases independent, international, and historical short films relevant to our museum exhibits and the communities we serve.

July 2024’s feature is “Craft in America: Quilts”, a 2019 documentary installment of PBS’s Peabody Award winning series exploring the creative spirit of handmade arts.

Quilts are not only functional works of textile art that pass down family stories, histories, cultures, and memories. This episode of Craft in America follows the journeys of notable quilt masters, including Susan Hudson, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, and Michael A. Cummings.

“Quilts” is approximately one hour in length and will be shown at 2:00 PM in the John R. Austen Auditorium of the Sigal Museum during Easton Heritage Day.
