Museum and a Movie: Out of Many, One – The Immigrant’s Story

July 17, 2022, 12:00 pm, John R. Austen Auditorium

NCHGS’s Museum and a Movie series showcases independent, international, and historical short films relevant to our museum exhibits and the communities we serve.

July 2022’s feature is Out of Many, One: The Immigrant’s Story, a short film from directors Nanfu Wang and John Hoffman that chronicles the personal journeys of immigrants preparing for the U.S. citizenship test. In January 2017, in response to changing policies around US immigration, the New-York Historical Society created The Citizenship Project as a way of helping immigrants on their path to becoming American citizens.

Out of Many, One will be shown at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 PM in the John R. Austen Auditorium of the Sigal Museum. Masks must be work in the auditorium.
