The Suffrage Garden and the 1915 Campaign – CANCELLED

June 20, 2020, 1:00 pm

This program has been cancelled due to the current state shutdown. We will update you on our programming as our county progresses to the Yellow and Green Phases of re-opening.

Michele McLaughlin will discuss the efforts of Pennsylvania suffragists and how their work-and gardens-sparked a nationwide phenomenon. Although the 1915 campaign was unsuccessful, this talk will explore the marketing genius of the suffragists and the opposition they faced. Attendees will also learn about ways to honor the suffragists during the 2020 planting season and are invited to stroll over to the Mixsell House courtyard garden for refreshments after the talk.

Free with museum admission or $5 program only.
