Fowler Family History Camp – Summer Camp Registration is Open! Week Two: July 22-26, 2019

July 22 – July 26, 2019

Calling all time-travelers, mystery-solvers, and adventurers aged 8-12! The Fowler Family History Camp is now open for registration.

Spend a week at NCHGS this summer and be the leader of your own adventure! Make personal connections to history, find and collect artifacts,  create and tell YOUR special story as we develop a “Museum of ME” to share at the end of the week.
Campers will explore the Sigal Museum, the 1753 Bachmann Publick House, and the 1833 Mixsell-Illick House; adventure through historic downtown Easton; journey through Hugh Moore Park; travel back in time to the Lenape, colonial and Victorian periods, and MUCH more. Here is a sampling of the week’s activities:
  • Historic arts, crafts, and STEAM activities
  • Costume and role play – discover what life was like for children of the past
  • Spend a day at Hugh Moore Park – take a mule barge ride, explore simple machines and water activities at the National Canal Museum, learn about life along the canal, cabinets of curiosity, and geological treasures, and play outdoor colonial games.
  • Track history and go on a scavenger hunt through downtown Easton.
  • Explore your family’s heritage foods and make a delicious dish with Chef Ada of Easton Public Market.
  • Design a mini exhibit.
