Heritage Day

July 14, 2019, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Heritage Day at the Sigal Museum is sponsored by Lafayette Ambassador Bank

Join us for Heritage Day: Easton’s full-day family history festival and Independence Day celebration. Tour NCHGS’s historic houses and the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania Cultural Center (ground floor of the Bachmann Publick House), sample Blackledge Winery’s period hard cider and listen to the Colonial Revelers at the 1753 Bachmann Publick House, watch a reenactment of Robert Levers’ original reading of the Declaration of Independence and a historic re-enactor parade. Tour our period Mixsell-Illick House and get a special view of the A Plethora of Petticoats exhibit on display in the Victorian parlor. Families can get creative with historic kids crafts and games at the Sigal Museum. End the evening with fireworks by the river.

Historic House Tours: Open 1:00 – 4:00 pm

  • 1753 Bachmann Publick House: 2nd and Northampton Streets
  • 1833 Mixsell-Illick House: 4th and Ferry Streets
  • Jacob Nicholas House (Durham boat captain’s home): 5th and Ferry Streets

The Lenape Cultural Center (ground floor of the Bachmann Publick House) will be open for tours, drumming, and a raffle.

Meet John Adams, George and Ann Taylor at the Bachmann Publick House – 2:30 and 3:30 pm

Join members of the Daughters of the American Revolution for tours of their historic Parsons-Taylor House (4th and Ferry Streets) from 12:00-4:00 pm.
