Lost Rights: The Misadventures of a Stolen American Relic, May 20, 2017, 1:00 pm

Follow the epic journey made by one of the 14 hand-drafted originals of the Bill of Rights. “Stolen” by a Union army infantryman rifling through a Raleigh, North Carolina statehouse looking for Confederate mementoes, the document was recovered by the FBI in Philadelphia, almost 138 years later, in a dramatic sting operation when two Connecticut antique dealers tried to sell the document to the National Constitution Center. Author David Howard will give a talk and book signing.

Program is free with museum admission or $5 for the program only.
