2012 Passport to History

The year-round 2012 Passport to History offers 260 years of Northampton County history in 26+ stops.  The limited edition Passports are now available, free of charge, by the nineteen participating historical organizations and sites of Northampton County, PA.  Take your passport  with you, as you visit each site.  When you’ve received all the stamps your passport can hold, we’ll help you celebrate your successful travel through Northampton County history during an award event in 2013!    For more information on the Passport program, click here

The Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society is pleased to launch its 2012 We the People: Shapers of History series at the Sigal Museum.  History is peopled by individuals who made amazing contributions to our culture, and events that still influence our belief systems of today. This series explores the lives and accomplishments of men and women who shaped life in their times and ours, and examines the hugely transforming and long-term events that have changed our world, shaped our society’s growth, development, and way of life.

Father’s Day at the Sigal Museum 

Fathers Admitted Free!

Bring Dad to the Sigal Museum to celebrate his special day!

At 11am, Rob Wozniak, owner of Preservation Works, an architectural restoration firm in Easton, returns to the Sigal Museum to present “Masonry Restoration of Historic Buildings.” Wozniak aims to help preserve the many architectural treasures in Easton by showing firsthand the challenges in preservation and the time honored methods for keeping our architectural heritage in the best shape possible. At this presentation you will improve your knowledge of historic masonry as you watch Wozniak restore, vis environmentally responsible methods, various structures, repoint, apply lime or clay plaster inside, apply lime-based stucco on new construction and install a variety of decorative and functional ironwork.
